  • 4C LAB brings the art of healing and expression to LA youth who are black, indigenous and people of color

    Art in motion

    Students heal through art

    Marissa Herrera

    Co-Founder 4C-LAB

    Moooooove through it

This is what joy looks like

Organization actively seeking donors and partners to support the rising need in underserved communities

4C LAB's roster of teaching artists reflects the diverse spectrum of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.”
    — Darci-Manzo Piron, Co-Founder
LOS ANGELES, CA, USA, August 10, 2022 / -- 4C LAB, a 501(c)3 community youth organization, is posturing for growth to bring art and healing to at-risk black, indigenous and people of color in the Los Angeles community. Their mission is to inspire positive social impact in underserved communities, by creating safe spaces for young people to share their stories through artistic expression.

Founded in 2016 by Marissa Herrera and Darci-Manzo Piron, two Latina/Native American women and "artivists" born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, each with careers in the arts spanning over two decades, 4C LAB provides arts immersion programming, led by professional teaching artists and centered around the four C’s: CREATE, COMMUNICATE, COLLABORATE, and COMMUNITY.

In Herrera's experience working with high school and early college-aged youth, she observed that many students were starting to find their voice through the arts in high school or early college, just as many of them were aging out of no-cost public arts programming. During these years, the founders worked in systematically racist and oppressive organizations under the leadership of those who did not identify as or could not relate to the needs of Black, Indigenous & People of Color (BIPOC) and did not share power. As a result, the two Los Angeles natives envisioned an arts organization where BIPOC youth, ages 15-20, could train in the arts and for careers in the creative economy while having equity at the center of its programs, structures, community relationships, and operations.

Herrera said, "The work of 4C Lab isn't just "art for art's sake." We strive to give our young creative visionaries and emerging community leaders the safe space to share their stories through the arts. We provide tools for self-care, mental health, mentorship, and support to thrive in their emerging creative careers. Ultimately, creating a sense of "family" is at the heart and soul of everything we do."

Piron said, "4C LAB's roster of teaching artists reflects the diverse spectrum of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. It is a team that can relate to the life experiences of the communities we serve, which allows for trust-building, deeper understanding, and a connection to the youth engaged in our programs. This creates a dynamic which yields authentic storytelling and uplifts our communities in the most profound and impactful way."

To prepare the youth participants for success, the organization enlists a power house creative advisory board, which includes artistic advisors such as five-time Emmy Award winner, Wayne Brady, who is widely known for his work on the improvisational comedy television series Whose Line Is It Anyway? He was the host of the daytime talk show The Wayne Brady Show; Broadway actor Christopher Jackson known for performances in the original Disney's The Lion King, After Midnight, Bronx Bombers, Holler If Ya Hear Me, and the smash Broadway hit Hamilton; Dominic Colón, an award-winning actor, writer, and director who has starred in over 60 movies and television shows, including guest appearances on Power, The Blacklist, and Orange is the New Black; OG Arabian Prince also known as Professor X, an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and DJ, best known as a founding member of N.W.A.

The board of directors includes Mario Davila, Director of After School Programs, L.A.’s Best Afterschool Enrichment Program, which serves more than 25,000 elementary school students from under-resourced neighborhoods; Kim Belcher Morris, Director of Individual Giving, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, which mobilizes resources to fight hunger in our communities and other highly respected community leaders who bring access to the organization and the community it serves.

The 4C LAB structure includes creative partnerships, professional development, performance ensembles and creative residencies.

    Creative Partnerships
4C LAB partners with organizations working at the forefront of creative practice, community healing, and empowering education for all. Through collaborations with K-12 schools, colleges, and universities, we support teaching artistry, keynote speaking, facilitation, and community-building. We develop arts education programming, present live arts and education assemblies, and facilitate staff retreats, curriculum, and professional development. Our custom-designed community programming is uniquely tailored for each partnership at the intersection of creativity and community.

    Professional Development
4C LAB facilitators and professional development workshops are at the forefront of effective and responsive pedagogical practices supporting positive and sustainable social change. Our inclusive team creates safe, brave spaces for dialogue, disruption, and dismantling old paradigms, providing tools for schools, community, cultural and arts organizations to shift to more conscientious and culturally responsive practices that best serve our next generation of leaders. 4C LAB utilizes trauma-informed, healing-centered creative practices that lead to Transformative Social-Emotional Learning in the classroom.

    Performance Ensembles
Youth (ages 16-23) create original work across various art forms to create an artistic community working together to affect positive social impact. Through multi-disciplinary workshops, guest artists, and mentorships, the young creative visionaries of 4C LAB partake in story circles, personal narrative writing, dance technique, visual and multimedia art activities, which culminate in an annual live performance for families and community members, and various public events in order to spread their message of social justice awareness and advocacy through creativity and artistic storytelling.

    Creative Residencies
Our professional teaching artists lead these multi-week immersive arts programs within a school, community, or arts organization. Using trauma-informed and healing-centered programming, we build an artistic ensemble through dance, poetry, and multimedia art activities, exploring themes of social justice, inclusivity, and culturally relevant storytelling. These various art forms are integrated into a final culminating performance to share with an audience. Creative Residencies support leadership development, improved mental health, and a safe space to process individual and community experiences through creativity.

Through these 4C LAB programs, the organization cultivates critical thinking skills for the youth participants to address structural and systemic injustices, and provide a platform for young people to develop leadership skills to cope, address and change these issues now and in the future.

The organization is seeking funding to expand its outreach. To learn more, donate or align with 4C LAB, please visit

    Bob & Dreama Denver

TV icon Bob Denver’s book Gilligan, Maynard, and Me, reissued for the first time In 3 decades as a digital audio book.

It has been a joy for all of us to make this audio book a reality.”
    — Dreama Denver
PRINCETON, WV, UNITED STATES, August 10, 2022 / -- Unavailable for years, Gilligan, Maynard, and Me, TV icon Bob Denver’s story, in Bob’s own words and his voice, so familiar to millions of baby boomers, is now available for the first time in decades! This new audio book release also contains a special introduction from Bob’s wife and award-winning author, Dreama Denver. This audio book is a must-have for fans of classic television!”

Of the reissue, Dreama Denver says “ When Bob's book, "Gilligan, Maynard, and Me," first came out, I loved it and encouraged everyone to read it. He was a great storyteller, and reading his words was almost as good as hearing him say them.

At the time, Bob recorded his book on cassette (remember those?), but audio books weren't as popular in the 90s as they are now in the 21st century. So with the help of my management and my publisher, we had the cassette recording digitized, a new cover art design, and voila! So now Bob Denver/Gilligan fans can listen to Bob himself as he takes you behind the scenes of his most iconic TV roles.

It has been a joy for all of us to make this audio book a reality. And as his wife of 30 years, I'm thrilled to offer you the experience of winding down or settling in on that road trip as Bob's voice reminisces about the actors he worked with and the experiences he had during a career that spanned 55 years.”

The team celebrated its 70+ skills and the recently launched Satellite Publishing. It uses Satellite Writer to write social media posts, articles, and press releases and publish them automatically across multiple channels and news outlets for users.

The initiative was a market test for ongoing automated social media posts and press distribution for business owners.

While the Satellite Writer team works on finishing touches, bug resolution, and launching new front ends, the focus at AI Exosphere has shifted from content generation to automation tasks, VR/AR HailyAI assistant, and the flagship HailyAI API.

"I don't think our work and training of unique models will ever be over. We have to strive to deliver new valuable AI operations and make them easy to use," said Alex Athey, Co-Founder

To start testing automation tasks, the team has begun developing in collaboration with Social Brim to build out Website Rabbit IO, an automated speech-to-website SaaS.

The current Website Rabbit CMS has 197 active users and has successfully gained traction with a free website design offer. However, the CMS does not offer any automated services. However, the mission remains to increase inclusion, accessibility, and scalability for small business owners, entrepreneurs, creators, and agencies.

  • Author and Retired Police Lieutenant Patricia Blake to be Featured on Close Up Radio

    PatriciaBlake2 Book

    PatriciaBlake3 Cops and Robbers

    PatriciaBlake4 Horse

    PatriciaBlake5 Officers

YERINGTON, NEVADA, UNITED STATES, August 10, 2022 / -- In the Bible, “God says Fear not, for I am with you.” But in these recent unprecedented times, with war, a global pandemic, and violence surging everywhere many of us are filled with dread, despair, and a sense of helplessness. So how can we find solace in such troubling times? The promising news is that there is still good around us leading us to a place of joy, peace, and comfort in order for us to absolutely live our best lives.

Patricia L. Blake is a retired police lieutenant and the author of Touched by the Hand of God in the City of Angels – Sent Me!

Patricia’s story began in her early childhood growing up in Oregon. As the firstborn of four children each born one year apart, she was expected by her parents to watch over her brother and two sisters. They would play cops and robbers and “Catch the Bad Guys” and Patricia fondly carried these childhood memories with her as endearing photos of their times together, embedded in her heart. Then in 1972, when she was 19, Patricia experienced a devastating traumatic event when her husband of four months, returning from serving two tours in the Vietnam War, tragically took his own life with a rifle. In the midst of her grief and pain, Patricia experienced a powerful miracle when she felt the hand of God or one of his Angels on her right shoulder. Instantly, her pain and grief was replaced by an incredibly loving presence and power of peace, love, and comfort.

She stated over forty years later, “It was an incredibly surreal, not of this earth feeling of the existence, eternal love and protection of a higher presence and then I instantly realized without any doubt that a higher power exists for all of us in our times of despair, sheer terror and desperate need.”

From that day forward Patricia was absolutely confident God is watching over us with his Angels steadfastly by our side. Filled with new profound sense of awareness of God and his Angels watching over us guided her path into the field of law enforcement as First Responders and warriors for God’s Will, as she endearingly words it, “To be the devoted protectors of our most innocent and vulnerable.”

In 1983, Patricia was one of the first female police officers working the streets in Los Angeles. It was a true Calling to make a difference and to Protect and to Serve in order to make a difference, and that is precisely what she did for over 40 years.

Today, retired but still active as a Reserve with the LAPD in the local community, her mission reminds us of the transformative power of our own humanity, that even in these overwhelming difficult times of struggle, God surrounds us and protects us and shields us with his eternal love, forgiveness and power. Her book “Touched by the Hand of God in the City of Angels – Send me,” will be released soon during the beginning of August through Amazon and Barnes and Nobel on Kindle, hard cover and paperback. Patricia makes the assertion within her writing of numerous intense true personal accounts while working in the field in Los Angeles that Good versus Evil does exist and “There are No Coincidences.”

Patricia believes that God also called her to complete this writing forty years later, stating “I realized my story could make a difference with people who find themselves in times of sheer terror, grief or desperation.” It is important for them to know that there is a higher power that cares, protects and is watching over us to give us hope, faith and inspiration and to make a difference in their lives. Our Almighty Lords sends Angels to protect and shield our first responders when they are in danger, but also sends our brave first responders in the form as Angels to protect and shield those in desperate times of need.”

Patricia deeply honors and respects all domestic and military first responders, including our nation’s police officers and military, fire fighters, EMT’s, and paramedics. Patricia references the prophet Isaiah in the Old Testament bible, 6:8 where the Lord asks Isaiah, “Whom shall I send” to give horrible bad news to his people, and Isaiah without hesitation responded “Send Me!” - Just as our courageous first responder heroes put on their Kevlar vests on a daily basis, risk their lives, and without hesitation responds, “Send Me” whenever God Calls upon them to protect and serve.

Patricia states, “I am deeply honored to have worn my police badge as a representation of protecting and serving my community and the innocent and the vulnerable, and I was so blessed to have worked with some of the most incredible brave warriors and domestic first responders - the truest partners imaginable.”

“I have stood face to face and looked into the eyes of pure evil. There is a higher power who wants to bring comfort, peace and love to our weary souls to live happy and abundant lives for all eternity. Always stand up and fight courageously for justice and truth against the monsters in the darkness and evil that exist. How awesome would it be to make a difference in the life of just one person in need!”

Don’t miss Patricia’s two-part series where she will discuss her empowering work as a police officer and her incredibly enlightening book. Your hearts will be filled with hope and optimism and your soul soothed and comforted. Patricia will open our eyes to the universal truth that there is something more beyond this life than what we see, feel and touch on earth.

Close Up Radio will feature Patricia Blake two interviews with Doug Llewelyn on Friday August 12th at 1pm Eastern and Friday August 19th at 1pm Eastern

AL-KHOBAR, EASTERN PROVINCE, SAUDI ARABIA, August 10, 2022 / -- Starting several years ago with Vision 2030, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia set forth a bold agenda of economic and social transformation to open up the nation to the world. Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU), a prestigious institute of higher learning in Saudi Arabia, is continuing to do its part in progressing Vision 2030 and the agenda's themes of an Ambitious Nation, a Thriving Economy, and a Vibrant Society. In accordance with these far-reaching themes, PMU is also helping advance the goals of partnership, prosperity, peace, and understanding worldwide.

Among PMU's many relevant activities has been the funding of special projects for university researchers and the securing of patents for new inventions. Through the Prince Turki bin Muhammad bin Fahd Center for Creativity and Entrepreneurship (PTCCE) at PMU, the university is supporting the projects and research of both male and female students. In particular, PMU is ensuring funding allocations for women researchers and students as they make key contributions to Vision 2030 in the area of sustainability via the development of clean, renewable energy sources and applications.

In these endeavors, PMU has also partnered with the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). A United States-based non-profit organization, NAI plays a pivotal role in recognizing and promulgating inventions made by its members for the benefit of global society.

Furthermore, to proactively envision and move toward achieving an equitably prosperous future, the Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Center for Futuristic Studies (PMFCFS) and the World Futures Studies Federation (WFSF) have announced a continuation of their futures research grant through this year. PMU has accordingly put out a new, third call for research proposals on "Thinking about alternative futures...", a widely ranging scholarly project aligning with Vision 2030 by exploring sustainability, wellbeing, and adaptability to unpredicted events.

Overall, through these efforts and more, PMU is managing to maintain a broad focus encompassing both home and abroad. The university is embracing how local positive change and global collaborative engagement can synergistically reinforce each other to improve lives in the here-and-now, as well as the there-and-then.

"All of us at PMU are very proud of what we are accomplishing in supporting research, innovation, and engagement within our community in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and across the full community of nations worldwide," said Dr. Issa Al Ansari, President of PMU. "We truly believe that tremendous opportunity exists for global citizens to cooperatively forge a future where prosperity is shared and accessible to all."

    Powering Innovation

A prime example of diligent individual effort cumulatively benefiting the world's population—and the health of the planet itself—is the electric vehicle. While fossil fuels have powered humanity's technological rise since the Industrial Revolution began more than two centuries ago, while also historically serving as a key source of wealth for Saudi Arabia, these fuels do not represent the future of energy generation by our global species.

PMU members are thus working on developing electric vehicles that can run on renewable sources of energy. In this vein, ten female students from PMU's College of Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering recently succeeded in designing and manufacturing an environmentally friendly electric car. The three-wheeled, joystick-controlled vehicle utilizes a solar-power charging station and performed admirably in test runs. The vehicle represents the culmination of an important hands-on, skills-building exercise that will empower PMU students to continue innovating and developing the modes of transportation humankind will progressively adopt in the coming decades. The distinguished graduation project was honored at a ceremony held by the university administration and attended by Dr. Al Ansari.

"At PMU, we encourage women to pursue careers in STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—and have made it a point to ensure funding allocation for both men and women," said Dr. Al Ansari. "The electric vehicle demonstration is evidence of how a balanced approach broadens innovation—innovation which will be critical in meeting the challenges of the 21st century."

    Protecting Inventions

The PTCCE is a catalyst for electric vehicle and other Vision 2030-aligned research and development. Beyond supporting and enriching the ideas of young people, the Center for Creativity and Entrepreneurship assists in turning these ideas into economically viable and attractive projects and applications at both the local and the global level.

Also playing a critical role is the Patent Center, established under the Deanship of Research at PMU. The Patent Center supports the protection of creative scholarly activities, innovation, and discoveries involving faculty, staff, students, and others participating in PMU programs, with a major element of this support being the assistance with securing patents through coordination with NAI.

Five patents were recently awarded by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to inventions by PMU community members. The patents represent a range of disciplines, from health and medicine to electrical and mechanical engineering and materials science. One of the patented inventions uses artificial intelligence (AI) for early diagnosis of Parkinson's disease, a neurodegenerative condition, as well as cardiovascular diseases by searching for telltale physiological, voice, and handwritten patterns displayed by patients. A second invention has applications in the power transmission industry and involves the fabrication of copper wire with enhanced electrical conductivity plus the desirable properties of high strength and ductility. The third invention is a novel kind of separator that can more effectively dehumidify air, with applications in the HVAC, aerospace, and natural gas industries. The fourth invention is a highly practical and versatile bento-style lunch box. The fifth invention describes the preparation of a polyolefin-carbon nanomaterial composite that offers excellent thermal and electrical conductivity along with flexibility, toughness, and degradation resistance.

"Through our dedicated Centers and partnerships, we are finding extraordinary success in promoting and protecting innovation and invention at PMU," said Al Ansari.

Reflecting the quality education that PMU offers to its students as well as its sustained support for academic staff, the university was recently rated highly in the QS World University Rankings, an annual publication of university rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds, a United Kingdom-based higher education analysis company. Overall, PMU was ranked in the top 651 to 700 universities around the world in the QS University World Rankings 2023, published in June. The university has also been recognized as one of the world's top universities for performance in the subjects of mechanical engineering (401-450) and computer science (601-650) by the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022.

The growing number of accolades for PMU's members, as well as the university's growing global reputation, collectively speak to the fruition of the themes of progress and prosperity in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.

"Although we have achieved great things at PMU, our work upon the local and global stages is far from finished," said Dr. Al Ansari. "We will continue to move forward with enthusiasm and determination."

  • Emmy-Nominated Animator Sherene Strausberg Wins CineGlobe with Cinematic Climate Change Short "Cool For You"

    Cool For You

Exec Produced by Stranger Things star Matthew Modine, "Cool For You" captivates while commanding a conversation about collective action & going carbon negative

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, August 9, 2022 / -- The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recently announced nominations including Sherene Strausberg’s participation in ProPublica “The Secret IRS Files” video series which is competing for Outstanding Graphic Design and Art Direction. The three videos by Strausberg, Nadia Sussman, Mauricio Rodríguez Pons, Almudena Toral, Kristyn Hume, Maya Eliahou, Chris Morran and Joe Singer ran as part of a larger series that revealed a series of systemic inequities that allow America’s wealthiest citizens to pay little or nothing in federal taxes. To make complex financial concepts easy to understand — and the inequalities exacerbated by current tax policy impossible to ignore — the team created humorous but gut-punching videos that unpack some of the most outrageous techniques used by the ultrawealthy to avoid taxes.

Her animated short “Cool For You” is currently playing as part of Italy’s La Guarimba festival as part of
“La Grotta Dei Piccoli,” the children’s animation festival, in collaboration with Unicef from 7-12 August 2022

Iconic Actor Matthew Modine and producing partner Adam Rackoff have come on board to Executive Produce Award-winning designer Sherene Strausberg's directorial debut "Cool For You." The animated short film is based on the book of the same title that explains global warming to children. Incorporating different characters and families, animals and plants, children are introduced to CO2 and positive ways to improve our impact on the Earth.

Over the last few months, "Cool For You" has been fascinating film festivals around the globe, including the New Media Film Festival, Los Angeles International Children's Film Festival, Brooklyn Film Festival, Rochester International Children's Film Festival, Providence Children's Film Festival, and the Children's Film Festival Seattle to name a few.

"My animated, short film, Cool For You, teaching young children the basic science of climate change, is heating up this summer along with all those record temperatures. With the festival's themes of science and conservation, it had its European premieres in June at CineGlobe Film Festival at The Cern in Geneva, Switzerland and in July at Good Natured: A Conservation Optimism Short Film Festival at the Museum of Natural History in Oxford, England. The festival in Geneva is where I had the wonderful honor of receiving my first Jury Award, for a Youth Film, from a panel of three judges, who work in the industries of art, science, and technology. Executive Produced by Matthew Modine and Adam Rackoff, the film is based on the book of the same title and provides children with actions they can take to help ease global warming. It will be shown at the Hollyshorts Film Festival on Sunday, August 14th at 5pm, and at La Guarimba Film Festival, August 7th to 12th, for their program of children's environmental films in partnership with Unicef Italia." – stated "Cool For You" Director / Animator Sherene Strausberg

Based on the children's picture book "Cool for You" it explains the basic science of climate change and actions we can take to help. Climate change is an urgent problem. Super storms, floods, droughts, and fires- we are just getting a taste of the new normal without global collective action to stop greenhouse gas emissions. "Cool for You" features a story of uniting to learn about the Earth and to work to stop climate change.
